As plans for KONAMI 2014 intensify, the organizers – CHANGE AFRICA PROJECT have organized a press conference to brief the general public about the idea and to also to use the medium to call on corporate bodies for sponsorship. KONAMI 2014 is 2nd edition of the 1st Inter Orphanage Homes Football Competition/ Soccer fiesta in Lagos.

It is a Corporate Social Responsibility project initiated by the CHANGE AFRICA PROJECT team (Group of Students in Nigeria, UK , USA and Ghana ) , aimed at touching the lives of children in 6 orphanage homes in Lagos, by providing practical support, through sports to improve children’s quality of life, advance their rights and give them a better future.
The event which takes place every year just like a seasonal tournament; makes the children look forward to taking the trophy home in a highly competitive soccer battle, year in year out, The Maiden edition which held last year summer was highly successful.

This year, the CHANGE AFRICA PROJECT is leveraging every idea possible to make KONAMI 2014 one of the biggest charity soccer events in Nigeria, and subsequently the unrivalled biggest charity soccer event in Africa & the World at large, in the nearest future just like the soccer aid charity football tournament which takes place every year at old Trafford, Manchester united.

‘Hence, we are determined to generate more funds for the orphanage homes, create more awareness for the cause, get more teams for the event, source for more ideas & inspiration for Africa in alignment with our key vision & Focus areas’  the founder/president of the CHANGE AFRICA PROJECT stated at the press conference
